A Protected Learning Time (PLT) day is when the surgery closes for an afternoon to allow the entire practice team - GPs, nurses, and administrative staff - to take part in professional development and training.

These sessions are important because they support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for all staff, strengthen team working within the practice, and help us to improve the quality and safety of patient care.

On PLT days, the surgery will be closed from 1:00PM. Patients with urgent medical needs during this time should contact the Out of Hours or Urgent Care Service by calling NHS 111. In a medical emergency, always dial 999.
